Holy Saying of Holy Prophet(SAWAW)

MAY ALLAH AND HIS ANGELS UNTOLD TIMES OFFER DUROOD-O-SALAM ON HUZOOR SYEDA FATIMA-TU-ZAHRAH (SALAM ALLAH-HO ALAIHA), THE CENTRAL PERSONALITY BETWEEN NABUWAH AND IMAMAT

The Holy Sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) Highlighting the Dignity of the Ahlul Bayt Athaar (ASWS)

The Divine Command of Muwaddat: The Quranic Foundation of Love for the Ahlul Bayt

The foundation of love and devotion for the Ahlul Bayt Athaar (ASWS) is divinely established in the Holy Quran. Almighty Allah, in His infinite wisdom, commanded His Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) to declare to his companions the ultimate recompense for his Prophetic mission. In Surah Ash-Shura, Allah reveals: “Say (O Muhammad): I do not ask of you any reward (Ajar-e-Risalat) for it except the love (Muwaddat) of my near kin (Ahlul Bayt)” (Surah Ash-Shura, verse 23). This profound verse establishes that the recompense for the Prophet’s twenty-three years of sacrifice, suffering, and divine mission is not wealth, status, or worldly gain, but rather the love and affection for his sacred family—the Ahlul Bayt Athaar.

This divine command elevates the love for the Ahlul Bayt from a mere emotional attachment to an act of worship and a measure of faith. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) declared: “The verse of Muwaddat is a covenant from Allah to the believers. Whoever loves my Ahlul Bayt is a believer, and whoever hates them is a hypocrite.” The love for the Ahlul Bayt is thus established as a sign of true faith and a path to divine proximity. The Holy Prophet further stated: “The example of my Ahlul Bayt is like the Ark of Noah. Whoever boards it is saved, and whoever turns away from it is drowned.” This powerful analogy establishes the Ahlul Bayt as the vessel of salvation for the Muslim community, making love for them and adherence to their guidance essential for spiritual deliverance.

The Holy Sayings Regarding the Dignity of Huzoor Syeda Fatima-tu-Zahrah (Salam Allah-Ho Alaiha)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) bestowed upon his beloved daughter a status so exalted that her dignity is established through numerous authentic traditions recorded in both Sunni and Shia sources. The Holy Prophet declared: “Fatima is a part of me. Whoever hurts her hurts me, and whoever delights her delights me” . This profound statement establishes that Syeda Fatima is not merely a daughter but an extension of the Prophet’s own being, making any harm to her equivalent to harming the Messenger of Allah himself.

In another tradition, the Holy Prophet emphasized: “Fatima is a part of me. Whatever pleases her pleases me, and whatever displeases her displeases me” . This declaration makes the happiness of Syeda Fatima a measure of the Prophet’s own happiness, and by extension, a measure of Allah’s pleasure. The Holy Prophet further stated: “Fatima is a part of my flesh and my soul in my body. Whatever angers her angers me, and whatever pleases her pleases me” . This profound bond establishes her as the Prophet’s spiritual and physical counterpart.

On multiple occasions, the Holy Prophet declared the supreme status of Syeda Fatima among all women. He said: “Fatima is the best woman ever from the beginning of time up to its end” . He also proclaimed: “Fatima is the best of all women of the world (Sayyidatu Nisae Al-A’lameen) and a role model for all Muslim women.” The Prophet further stated: “The best of your men is Ali Ibn Abi Talib, and the best of your women is Fatimah Binte Mohammad.” These declarations establish Syeda Fatima as the eternal role model for all women and the most honored female in the history of creation.

The Holy Prophet also said: “Verily, if you are angry, O Fatima, Allah is also angry; if you are happy, Allah is also happy” . This statement is recorded in numerous authentic sources, including Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Musnad of Imam Hanbal . The Prophet further declared: “Fatima is a part of my body. What makes her happy, makes me happy; what is painful to her is painful to me” .

Regarding her spiritual station, the Holy Prophet said: “Fatima is the chief of the women of Paradise” . He also declared: “Fatima is the leader of all women of Paradise, the guiding light for all women, and the most honorable and noble woman in the world.” When asked about her status, the Prophet stated: “Fatima is the crown of my head, the light of my eyes, and the fruit of my heart.”

The Holy Sayings Regarding the Dignity of Hadrat Ali-ul-Murtaza (ASWS)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) established the exalted status of Imam Ali (ASWS) through numerous authentic traditions. The Prophet declared: “Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and none should represent me except myself or Ali” . This profound statement establishes Ali as the Prophet’s spiritual counterpart and the sole legitimate representative of his mission.

In the renowned Hadith al-Wilayah, the Prophet declared: “What do you want from Ali? Verily, Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and he is the Wali (Master) of every believer after me” . This tradition is recorded with authentic chains in Sunan Tirmidhi and Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal . The Prophet’s emphatic repetition—”What do you want from Ali! What do you want from Ali! What do you want from Ali”—demonstrates the urgency and importance of recognizing Ali’s authority .

On the occasion of Ghadeer Khum, the Holy Prophet declared: “Whomever I am his master, Ali is his master. O Allah, love those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him” . This declaration, witnessed by over one hundred thousand companions, established Ali’s spiritual authority over the entire Muslim community. The Prophet also said: “Ali is to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me” . This parallel to Prophet Harun establishes Ali as the Prophet’s brother, minister, and successor.

The Holy Prophet further declared: “Ali is the most knowledgeable, the most prudent, and the first Muslim” . He also said: “Ali is from me and I am from him, and he is the Wali of every believer after me” . In another tradition, the Prophet stated: “I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is its gate. Whoever seeks knowledge must come through the gate.” This establishes Ali as the gateway to the Prophet’s knowledge and the custodian of Islamic learning.

The Holy Sayings Regarding the Dignity of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (ASWS)

The two grandsons of the Holy Prophet, Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (ASWS), were honored with the most exalted titles and declarations. The Holy Prophet declared: “Hasan and Hussain are the leaders of the youth of Paradise” . This tradition is recorded in Sunan Tirmidhi and declared authentic (hasanun sahih) . The Prophet further stated: “They are my two flowers in this world” . Regarding their connection to him, the Prophet said: “Whoever loves them loves me, and whoever hates them hates me” .

The Holy Prophet would often declare: “Hasan is from me, and Hussain is from me” . He also stated: “These two sons of mine are the leaders of the youth of Paradise. If you wish, I will say: their father is better than them” . This establishes not only their supreme status but also the superiority of their father, Imam Ali (ASWS). The Prophet also said: “Hasan and Hussain are the two leaders of the youth of Paradise. Whoever loves them loves me, and whoever hates them hates me.”

In the context of the Mubahala event, where the Holy Prophet challenged the Christians of Najran to mutual cursing, he took Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain as his “sons,” Ali as his “self,” and Fatima as his “women,” declaring: “These are my Ahlul Bayt” . This divine selection established them as the purest and most exalted of the Prophet’s family. The Holy Prophet further declared: “The example of my Ahlul Bayt is like the star in the heavens. Whichever star you follow, you will be guided aright.” This establishes that following the Ahlul Bayt is the path to salvation and divine guidance.

The Holy Prophet also said: “We, the children of Abdul Muttalib, are the leaders of Paradise: Myself, Hamza, Ali, Ja’far, Hasan, Hussain, and the Mahdi” . This comprehensive declaration includes both the grandsons within the leadership of Paradise, affirming their supreme status in the hereafter. The Prophet’s love for them was so immense that he would carry them on his shoulders during prayer and remain in prostration until they chose to move, demonstrating that their comfort was prioritized even over the act of worship.

The Command of Muwaddat: Love and Obedience as the Path to Salvation

The Quranic command of Muwaddat for the Ahlul Bayt has been explained by the Holy Prophet in numerous traditions. The Prophet said: “The love of my Ahlul Bayt is a duty upon every believer” . He also stated: “Whoever dies loving the Ahlul Bayt dies a martyr” . The Prophet further emphasized: “I am leaving among you two weighty things: the Book of Allah and my Ahlul Bayt. If you hold fast to them, you will never go astray” . This hadith, known as the Hadith al-Thaqalayn, establishes that love for the Ahlul Bayt is inseparable from following the Quran and is essential for salvation.

The Prophet also declared: “Do not be like the people of Noah who turned away from the Ark. My Ahlul Bayt is the Ark of salvation. Whoever loves them is saved, and whoever hates them is destroyed.” This analogy establishes the Ahlul Bayt as the vessel of divine mercy. The Prophet further warned: “Whoever harms my Ahlul Bayt has harmed me, and whoever harms me has harmed Allah” . This establishes that any harm—whether physical, emotional, or reputational—to the Ahlul Bayt is a transgression against the Prophet and ultimately against Allah Himself.

The Legacy of Love for the Ahlul Bayt

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) established through his divinely revealed sayings that the Ahlul Bayt Athaar (ASWS)—Syeda Fatima-tu-Zahrah, Imam Ali-ul-Murtaza, Imam Hassan-al-Mujtaba, and Imam Hussain—are the most exalted personalities after the Prophets. Their dignity is established in the Quran through the Verse of Muwaddat and the Verse of Tat’heer, and their status is confirmed through countless authentic traditions. The love for them is not optional but a divine obligation, and their guidance is essential for salvation. The Holy Prophet declared: “Whoever loves my Ahlul Bayt, I shall intercede for him on the Day of Judgment” . He also said: “The love of my Ahlul Bayt is a sign of faith, and hatred for them is a sign of hypocrisy” .

The Prophet’s sayings regarding the Ahlul Bayt are not mere words of affection but divine mandates that define the path of Islam. The verse of Muwaddat—”I do not ask of you any reward for it except the love of my near kin”—remains the eternal covenant between the Prophet and his Ummah. To fulfill this covenant is to secure the Prophet’s love and intercession; to neglect it is to risk divine displeasure. The Ahlul Bayt Athaar, as the purified ones and the vessels of divine knowledge, remain the eternal guiding light for all believers until the Day of Judgment. Their dignity and sanctity are not merely historical facts but living realities that every believer must honor and uphold.
